The difference

Rigatoni vs Sedani

Both are ridged tubes cut straight across, but rigatoni is wide and dead straight, while sedani is much narrower and gently curved, named for a celery stalk. Rigatoni's broad mouth swallows a hearty ragu, sedani's slim curve suits a lighter sauce. Width and the bend set them apart.
