The difference
Fusilli vs Gemelli
Fusilli is a true corkscrew, a single ribbon wound into an even spiral. Gemelli looks like two strands twisted together but is one S shaped rope folded and twisted on itself, which leaves a tighter seam and deeper grooves. Both catch a chunky sauce in their turns, and gemelli holds a little more of it in the crease where the strand doubles back.
