The difference
Lorighittas vs Malloreddus
Both are Sardinian semolina shapes, but lorighittas are braided rings, two strands twisted into a closed loop, while malloreddus are small ridged gnocchetti pressed on a board. One is an airy woven ring from Morgongiori, the other a dense little shell often colored with saffron. The braid is unmistakable.
