The difference

Casarecce vs Gemelli

Easy to mix up, so look at the twist. Casarecce is a single flat ribbon rolled into an open S channel, so it has a groove down its length. Gemelli looks like two strands twisted together but is one S strand wound on itself, solid through. Both grip pesto and chunky sauces well.
