The difference

Anellini vs Ditalini

Both are tiny soup shapes, but anellini are little smooth rings, hoops barely wider than a grain, while ditalini are short ridged tubes cut straight across. The ring is open and flat, the tube has length and walls. Both vanish into a brothy soup, ditalini with a bit more body.
