The difference
Cappellacci vs Cappelletti
Both are peaked hats of folded egg sfoglia from Emilia Romagna, and the names share the root cappello. Cappellacci is the larger, coarser one, a Ferrara specialty filled with sweet Violina squash and cheese. Cappelletti is the smaller cousin, usually meat filled and dropped into broth. Size and filling, not the fold, tell them apart.
