The difference

Acini di pepe vs Ditalini

Both go into soup, but acini di pepe are tiny round beads, specks the size of a peppercorn, while ditalini are short ridged tubes you can see through. The bead is solid and minuscule, the tube has walls and a hole. Acini di pepe nearly disappears, ditalini keeps a little chew.
